Bio: Hello! My name is Alivia! I grew up near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and went to a rural public high school where I took many honors and AP courses, which I enjoyed greatly. I began my collegial studies at Temple University studying business law, and then decided to major in my true passion: history. Throughout college, I was involved in student government, and I also worked on campus, all while maintaining an A average. After I graduated with a history degree, I decided to move to Houston, Texas, and began my graduate level work in education. I also plan to continue my graduate studies, and work towards a Ph.D.. Throughout my academic career, one thing I have learned is that I could not have achieved the success I have without my teachers, mentors and tutors. These figures in my academic career taught me that life is a learning process, filled with concepts and dilemmas that need to be constantly challenged and solved. I strongly believe that no matter what level one is at, being able to always be in a state of growth, questioning and learning, is key. I will always strive to meet my students where they are at, and help them to learn in the best way that suits their particular learning style.

Teaching Style: My teaching style is based upon the notion that students learn best when their teacher is enthusiastic, and engaging. I endeavor to always make lessons as relatable, exciting, and interactive as possible, while still maintaining a sense of challenging and thought provoking inquiry.
