Bio: I am passionate about education because I wholeheartedly believe that education is an equalizer. It equips individuals with the necessary skills to be successful in whatever field they choose to pursue. Unfortunately, the classroom does not always allow a student to fully meet his or her potential. That is why I love tutoring! Private tutoring allows me the opportunity to let the curiosity and natural giftings of a child flourish in a safe and guided atmosphere. It is in this environment where many children often realize they are capable of accomplishing far more than they originally thought possible. These are the moments I live for and reinforce why it is that I teach!
Teaching Style: I firmly believe that every child is unique and has his or her own distinct learning style. Because of this, I find it imperative to adapt my teaching style to each student’s individual needs. By doing this, I hope to create a comfortable learning environment where a child can ask questions and develop his or her natural curiosity for learning.
Summary of Prior Experience: While I was working on my undergraduate degree, I privately tutored English at both the grammar school and college levels. After receiving tutoring, all of these students passed the necessary assessments to advance in their respective academic environments. Once I graduated with my BA, I taught junior high and high school for four years at a classical private school. I taught grammar, informal logic, formal logic, rhetoric, and speech; and many of my students went on to win scholarships and other college funding for papers and speeches they completed during my classes.
