Bio:
"Biological sciences are my passion! Gratification, for me, comes from gained knowledge. However, the transference of knowledge between individuals is where true success lies, for building on the knowledge of others is what has made us who we are. The most gratifying life would be one where I could gain knowledge to benefit others, allowing for great successes in the ongoing conservation effort.

As a teaching assistant at The University of Southern Mississippi, I gained valuable experience leading undergraduate students in classroom lectures in Marine Biology, Marine Aquaculture, and Marine Ichthyology. Aside from developing and communicating lecture material, I also have experience leading laboratory discussions and specimen collection trips, where my classes studied the marine environment ranging from Port Isabel, TX to Sarasota, FL. While teaching, I took great pleasure in supplementing in-class material and lectures by hosting weekly tutor and study sessions for students interested in further instruction. My classes consistently evaluated my performance in lecture, laboratory, and field components as outstanding, and stated that the courses and my teaching skills inspired them to enroll in more marine and coastal science courses in the future.
My six years of undergraduate and graduate coursework and research experience has equipped me with a reservoir of knowledge in the biological sciences. My master’s thesis took an interdisciplinary approach, integrating studies in biology, ecology, animal physiology, biochemistry, and statistical analyses in order to study the impacts of anthropogenic stressors on marine finfish. I have used my knowledge to develop my holistic teaching methodologies in order to more effectively communicate biological sciences to students. I believe that there is major interconnection between all biological science disciplines, and that it is the duty of the teacher to connect these disciplines to allow for more effective student learning.

I am prepared to develop tutor session on more specific material for AP courses such as topics related to comparative animal physiology, ecophysiology, ecological theory, marine biology, advanced environmental sciences, natural resources management, and ichthyology.
If you are looking for a person with a passion for biological sciences to ignite your own, I'm the tutor for you!
